Some time back, I read an article that explained how to get a good google standing without ever publishing your website for their submission forms. As you, I was kind-of shocked by this statement so I chose to give a try to it.
Initially, I used to submit my site all the time to Google but quickly realized the magnitude of my failure. Of course, it is a known fact that Google depends solely on your own link popularity and content.
Link Acceptance?
What that means may be the amount of links (yousite.com) listed o-n other web sites that are associated with yours! The more sites that link to you, the greater your recognition!
Therefore again, Google depends on your link popularity! If you don't have a google standing (In other words, can be your link available on google?) some sites WON'T link to yours. There are numerous sites that have an excellent google score and have specific rules to whom they'll accept inside their resource sections. They will establish that your site must be listed within Google and if they type-in your site in the google search bar, your site should be listed within the top 5 sites.

Obviously you need all sites to link to you, specially the ones who already have a great google status because that means that your website is likely to be picked up by google. Some individuals just try to get links from those sites but keep in mind, all of us had to start out somewhere.
My idea is to do as many link transactions as possible and especially make sure that each site is especially grouped by their content. You'll get punished for having one page full of links to websites that don't connect with each other.
Yet another small 'Timbit', try to keep your pages to 1-20 links within each page. Once you've 2-0 links, put in a button to your (PAGE 2) and carry on your resources this way.

So many businesses do that process backwards and wonder why they don't get shown in Google. Or like what happened to me, your site is listed by Google immediately but in a few days, presto, your site is finished from their record and your left confused why!.
